Learning His Tone

 

Today, I asked the Lord "what does your voice sound like?" and it didn't take long for Him to respond. This was His response....


"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me." (John 10:27) 


My sweet girl-you are my sheep and I am the shepherd. Although you are growing in me, you are also learning my tone. My tone is gentle and crosses your mind like a leaf in the wind on an autumn day. My intentions are for peace and comfort-to teach you how to be more like me...more like my Father. 

I want you to incline your ear to me kiddo because I have much I want to tell you. When you call on me, trust that I will answer and show you secret things. (Jeremiah 33:3) I am always speaking to you. 

I want you to slow down and hear me. 

Listen for my tone.

 It is gentle, loving and kind. It is strong and compassionate. I can be as quiet as a whisper but as loud as a drum- all within one instruction. Do not be afraid. Can you hear me child? Can you hear me when I call to you? Can you hear me rejoicing over you with loud singing? Can you hear me when I pray in intercession for you to my Father? I am always speaking and always praying for you, my dear. 

There are many times when you don't hear me because you are too focused on the world around you. 

LET. IT. GO. 

Give all of those distractions to me. Be still and know that I am God. You can find refuge in my voice. I am your Father and I will protect you. I want to flood your thoughts, sweet girl. I want all of you because I love you. I want my voice to be so loud that I am all that you hear. I want to break you free from all of the lies that the enemy has placed in you and I want to sing over you. 

My voice brings freedom and healing. It also brings discipline and reproof-just like a Father. My voice teaches and commands, it lifts up and encourages.

It is never silent. 

I am always speaking to you because I love you. I want you to spend time with me. Like a shepherd tends to his flock of sheep, I want to tend to you. I am the Great Shepherd and you will know my voice the more you seek me. The more time you spend with me, the deeper our relationship becomes and the stronger your faith grows. 

Let me show you my secrets, dear one. 

Talk to me always. I do hear you and I will answer you. Take time to listen. Stop talking-there is always an appropriate time and place for that, but know that I already know your heart and your inner thoughts before you even speak them to me. 

Be still and know. 

Be still.

Love Song

  This painting always makes me tear up. When I look at this, I can't help but to imagine the tightness of the hug, the warm embrace of Jesus' love the very first time He sees me in Heaven. Oh how I can't wait for that day to see Him face to face.  This painting came to mind as I asked the Lord the question "What does your love look like?" This is what He had to say...
